Kiss the of the Night
(Dark-Hunter Series, Book 5)
by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Wulf Tryggvasen is a viking warrior who not only is a Dark-Hunter but, aside from his bloodline, no one can remember him after five minutes of seeing him. He finally meets a woman- Cassandra Peters -who can remember him only to find out she is half Apollite and is the key to earth's survival: if she dies the sun dies. Wulf has to keep his bloodline safe, fight Apollo's son, the Destroyer and keep Cassandra alive. Cassandra is part of the race that he has been hunting for thousands of years. Great. While protecting Cassandra, Wulf learns there is more to the Damions than just Apolllites who have refused to die on their twenty-seventh birthday by "sucking" souls. Somehow the one encounter ties them together in dreams. Cassandra's humor, courage and strength touch Wulf's dead heart and give him the one thing he has never dared to hope for : love.
Sherrilyn's new twist on the Damions and Apollites in this book is interesting because it changed Wulf's view as well as mine of what I thought they were. As in every book I've read so far Acheron's story builds upon itsself as well as some of the other ex-Dark-Hunter characters. I'm excited to see what happens next. And, yes, my arm fell asleep from holding the book apart and (like a dork) I carried a book light everywhere I went.

This is Marjorie M. Lui's second book for her Dirk & Steele series. She builds onto the overall Dirk & Steele plot but also has a great story about Elena ad Artur. I can't wait to read the next book and see Ms. Lui's new revelations. Marjorie M. Lui Official Website I bought this book in a paperback because there was not an ebook option.

Dance with the Devil
(Dark-Hunter Series, Book 4)
by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Zarek was featured in part of Night Embrace and his story begins with him being called wild, crazy, insane, trustless, and just plain scary. Yes, he's a soulless Dark-Hunter, who stands between mankind and those who would see to destroy it but, would someone with no hope go out of his way to protect the innocent?
Zarek is accused of killing innocent humans and exposing the Dark-Hunters and Artimities has decided he must die but Acheron barters with Artiemites to have a justice nymph- Astrid -"judge" him.
Reading this book was fantastic but very emotional! I felt every single blow and every humiliation that caused Zarek to be the way he is...it was heartbreaking. I read half of it in one sitting and the next day couldn't put it down- I actually fell asleep with the book in my hand! From the beginning Zarek's rage is almost unbearable to read, including the vivid flashbacks he suffers. However hard all that is, the eventual hope and trust Zarek receives from Astrid's persistence is even more significant. Be prepared for a vivid tale... I also enjoyed the expanding story of Archeron, the greek gods and the other possible Dark-Hunter tales. This was beyond an excellent read and left wanting more...Sherrilyn Kenyon Offical Website

Demon Angel
(The Gaurdian Series, Book 1)
by Meljean Brook
I must say this book is very intense and very intricate. Meljean Brook creates a supernatural world in which Guardians and Demons fight over human souls but are bound by a humans "free will", but there is also Nosferatu and vampires- how awesome is that! This book has so many intricate plots and sub-plots and the book is longer than most paranormal romance books but it's well worth it even if this review seems a bit lengthy. Best part of this book is at first it feels like a mystery and kept me guessing on "what's going to happen next". I had to re-read some of the parts to understand the suttle nuainces of each characters development, but this book focuses on Hugh and Lilith and their- not just physical -attraction to eachother.
In the begining Hugh is a young- seventeen-year-old human knight who's honesty and self scaraficing behavior attract the attention of a very alluring and decieving Demon- named Lilith -who's actions lead to his death. Due to Hugh's self-sacrafice and Lilith's choice to let the Doyen- the first Gaurdian named Micheal -convert him to a Gaurdian they both live to continue their eternal bout for human souls. They struggle against eachother throughout the years during which Hugh is determined to save Lilith. After eight-hundred-years he becomes disolusioned with the binding limitions a Gaurdian has when saving humans and his failed attempts to save Lilith, he does the unthinkable- kills Lilith to releases her from Lucifers bond -and chooses to "fall" and becomes a mortal human again. He is surprised sixteen-years after his fall his plan to save Lilith didn't work and now she is part of Lucifers new plan. Hugh now "buff" college professor is thrust into the middle of a FBI investigation where his friends and students are in danger, Demons are placed into powerful positions of human buerocracies and insitutions, serval Nosferatu are running around in the city with extrodinary powers and all of this is part of Lucifiers master plan for his soul.
Whoa! Lots going on in this book, but well worth the read. Make sure you take time to read everything slowly- taking notes helps -this book is considerably more in-depth than the other two books/novella's Meljean Brook has put out but i'm excited to see what Demon Moon (I read Paradise before I recieved Demon Angel.) has in store!
