Kiss the of the Night
(Dark-Hunter Series, Book 5)
by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Wulf Tryggvasen is a viking warrior who not only is a Dark-Hunter but, aside from his bloodline, no one can remember him after five minutes of seeing him. He finally meets a woman- Cassandra Peters -who can remember him only to find out she is half Apollite and is the key to earth's survival: if she dies the sun dies. Wulf has to keep his bloodline safe, fight Apollo's son, the Destroyer and keep Cassandra alive. Cassandra is part of the race that he has been hunting for thousands of years. Great. While protecting Cassandra, Wulf learns there is more to the Damions than just Apolllites who have refused to die on their twenty-seventh birthday by "sucking" souls. Somehow the one encounter ties them together in dreams. Cassandra's humor, courage and strength touch Wulf's dead heart and give him the one thing he has never dared to hope for : love.
Sherrilyn's new twist on the Damions and Apollites in this book is interesting because it changed Wulf's view as well as mine of what I thought they were. As in every book I've read so far Acheron's story builds upon itsself as well as some of the other ex-Dark-Hunter characters. I'm excited to see what happens next. Sherrilyn Kenyon Official Website Even though I had to buy this book in paperback it was still worth it. And, yes, my arm fell asleep from holding the book apart and (like a dork) I carried a book light everywhere I went.
